TEACHING

Originally from La Mancha (Spain), I have worked in higher education in three different countries. In United States: University of Kentucky (2012-14), University of Virginia (2015-16) and Emory & Henry College (2016-present). In Mexico: Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (2014-2015). In Italy: Università di Torino (2007-11).

I love the learning process. In my classes, students have learned about Spanish language (introductory, intermediate, and for the professions), and Hispanic literature, culture, and civilization. Some courses I have enjoyed in the last semesters are:

SPA 101      “Introductory level I” (both, in-campus and on-line course)

SPA 102       “Introductory level II” (both, in-campus and on-line course)

SPA 201       “Intermediate level I” (both, in-campus and on-line course)

SPA 202       “Intermediate level II” (both, in-campus and on-line course)

SPA 202       “Communication in the Hispanic World”

SPA 203       “Conversation and Culture”

SPA 301       “Advanced Grammar and Expressions in Hispanic Culture”

SPA 302       “Introduction to Literature and Film”

SPAN 3030  “Cultural Conversations in Spanish”

SPAN 3050  “Spanish for Medical Professionals”

SPA 350       “Identity and Exile in Literature and Film”

SPA 401       "Human Rights in Hispanic Works" (Fall 2019)

SPA 402       "Ecocriticism in Literature and Film"

SPA 406       “Survey in Hispanic Literature”

SPA 460       “Independent Study: Eco-criticism in Hispanic Works”

Here is a sample of the teaching environment in the class.
