Service with the community

Some of the recent service I have done with the community is a great experience: a free-clinic that I promoted for Latino community members in Charlottesville, VA and the Southwest area of the state. I would like to thank the very inspiring support from students and other colleagues at the University of Virginia and Emory & Henry College.

One more service learning project the students and I have developed in a Spanish language course is to get in contact with the Latino community members in Washington county, VA in 2016 and 2017. The result of these video-interviews is available here (in a new window).

Service to the profession

Besides the weekly duties (office hours, department meetings, etc), I have also served to the Spanish Language Academic Catalog Review Committee, and the Library Committee for Emory & Henry College.

I particularly enjoy promoting the Spanish program activities, the Study Abroad exchanges and trips. In May 2017, I organized a campus-wide Workshop on ePortfolios with Joe Vess in May 2017. Besides, we lead our great ePortoflio community of practice (2016-present).
